A Qualitative Case Study on the Transitional Rehabilitation Experience of Person with Acquired Spinal Cord Injury

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the understanding and meaning of life before and after the transitional rehabilitation experience through the transitional rehabilitation experience of a person with acquired spinal cord injury. Therefore, six persons with acquired spinal cord injury who had experience in transitional rehabilitation service were selected as study participants. In-depth interviews were conducted about their own disabilities and experiences of participating in transitional rehabilitation services, and the meaning of the research topics was analyzed based on the collected data.
As a result of intra-case and case-to-case analysis, 'the reason for participating in transitional rehabilitation service', 'experience of participating in transitional rehabilitation service', and 'effect of transitional rehabilitation service' were found. Through the transitional rehabilitation service experience, the study participants were able to escape from learned helplessness, were able to challenge new personal relationships, began efforts to maintain the quality of life before disability, and were motivated for life after disability. has been granted Based on these results, practical methods necessary to support social rehabilitation of persons with acquired spinal cord injuries were also suggested.
